Based on WHIO-TV, the Cincinnati Zoo took to social media final week to announce that “start watch” has begun for pregnant Nile hippo Bibi, the mom of viral sensation Fiona.
“Based on measurements made throughout Bibi’s final ultrasound, her fetus is greater than Fiona was when she was born!” the zoo wrote in an Instagram put up Friday. “The hippo workforce is optimistic that the child can be born throughout the regular start window. For a hippo, that could possibly be 30 days earlier than or after the estimated due date, which for Bibi is mid-August. So, our Zoo Volunteer Observer (ZVO) workforce is beginning their start watch right now!”
The replace comes almost three months after the zoo introduced that Bibi, 23, was anticipating a child with accomplice Tucker, 18.
