WARREN — The Rev. James D. Schimmel lived one of the best 82 years, discovering love and pleasure in life, finishing it on Friday, Nov 11, 2022, with the love of household and buddies surrounding him.
He was born Aug. 24, 1940, to Elbert and Glenna Whitney Schimmel in Zanesville; and the tales of his household’s love formed him to the tip.
Jim was a superb pastor, preacher and servant chief for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for greater than 60 years. He was a proud graduate of Bethany School and Yale Divinity Faculty, in addition to a scholar of life — even in embracing loss of life and the subsequent life as one of the best journey but.
His life gave witness in all the pieces he did and mentioned — to the love and pleasure of God for all folks. All who knew him had been blessed.
Jim was proudly married to Sue Schimmel for 59 years and so they had two daughters, Heather (Michael Doerr) and Brenda (Toby Underdown); 4 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren he completely adored.
His brother, Robert Eugene Schimmel, survives; his sister, Janet Ann and brother, Jeffrey Lynn, predeceased him.
The household invitations household and buddies to assemble in celebration starting at midday for visitation and celebration of life at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 15, 2022, at Warren Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Come dressed for a celebration. Please no flowers.
Contributions can go to St. Jude Kids’s Analysis Hospital or The Christian Church in Ohio; or exit to dinner with your loved ones and snort and love one another.
Cremation providers have been entrusted to the Carl W. Corridor Funeral Residence.
